After spending his teenage years in several dodgy bands, Get effect finally discovered the wonder of electronic music but more specifically, Breakbeat. The nasty, slightly offensive vibe, backed up with more funk than James Browns sweating armpits, suddenly made the world seem a much less hostile place…..

Having moved to Glasgow last year he soon realised he was the last remaining person (apart from the 84 year old woman in the flat opposite) who didn’t yet have decks and since getting his own has become rather fond of playing his records very loudly, becoming the victim of a well orchestrated hate campaign from said neighbour. As well as this he’s managed to play at a few clubs and is currently honing his skills every week at various pubs in Glasgow - boost on over to ‘downloads’ to hear what this currently sounds like…

Get-Effect is also part of the Nasa collective who have started putting on DnB/ Breakbeat nights as well as providing pre-club moo-zak at Bento-Bar every other Saturday night. Nasa also have a radio show on Subcityity radio, every Thursday 8 till 10 playing yet more Breakbeat, DnB, Gameboy Gabba and Speedbass although no-ones really sure what this is yet….
